Description
Mid-18th Century, Georgian black lacquered occasional table, dish top surrounding hand painted landscape scenes with figures. The carved edge is nicely treated with floral decoration in gold. The top is raised on a well-turned bluster column rested on cabriole legs that end in pad feet. The base is painted with pretty floral decoration. As noted by Florian Papp, it is rare to find delicate tables of this quality that survive today. Acquired @ $12,600.00 in March 1997 from Florian Papp Fine Antique Furniture, 962 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10021.
