It is an absolutely drop-dead gorgeous vintage lavender satin comforter - or if you prefer, bedspread - with beautifully topstitched tulip design and a beautifully braided fringed border all around. It has its original label, 'Carlin Comfort' and something very unusual, the name of the manufacturer is also top stitched into the comforter. I look for these comforters all the time, I no longer find them with any frequency at all and this is a particularly glamorous find. The color is beautiful, it is in exceptionally good condition, stuffed with wool as the ones from the 20s, 30s, 40s were, one side has a strap which I am assuming may have been used to roll te comforter up for storage, the strap unbuttons from the comforter/bedspread. I found one small, small blemish on this comforter and have included a photo, it had been drycleaned, however, it was stored in a cedar chest with mothballs and it will need either a very good airing or you may want to dryclean it yourself. It is 78" x 80", with one inch long fringe around all borders. My opening bid puts the value of the item where I think it belongs, as I have mentioned, I no longer find these beautiful textiles - they are movie star quality - and indeed, are seen in the beautiful beds of beautiful ladies in the movies where you have a vintage setting.
