De Wit City Map 17th C Dordrecht Netherlands Holland' Description This auction is for a very rare map, which I believe dates from the second half of the 1600's by Frederick de Wit. It is an very detailed map - see my close up pictures. It is identified as Dordracum Volgo Dortt lower left. I believe this is the city of Dordrecht in the Netherlands (Holland). The image is about 53cm x 41 1/2 cm. The paper size is about 63cm x 53 1/2cm. Map is in excellent condition as shown. There is tap in the very edge of the paper - I removed the map from its frame for this auction, and it was held in the frame by this tape. The pictures show some light spots, which are not nearly as visible in real life. There is one tiny worm hole in the map, near the large Church at 9o'clock - very small, so it can only be located from the back, with a bright light on the other size.
