Ferahan is one of the best known 19th century carpet design. It in no longer produced, but in its heyday it had a great reputation for quality combined with elegance and restraint. The good example of Ferahan can be found in museums, stately homes and private collection. In early days it used to be called "peral of Persia". Ferahan rugs are among the most luxurious Persian rug, easily could be on top five, an unusually rare example of the craftsmanship of the people of this practically isolated portion of Persia.
