It is masterfully crafted with inlaid white marble mounted upon a carved giltwood base. There is no mistaking its unique quality and design, which is certain to make it a talking point in your home. As such, this remarkable table is sure to take pride of place in your dining room or reception. The base is constructed with veneers of black and white marble, with Empire style gilded motifs. The legs sit on gilded lion's paw feet and the back and sides are veneered with brown marble. This is the perfect base for the decorative inlaid marble top. The marble top is expertly inlaid with a variety of colourful semi-precious stones. It is an incredibly difficult process to cut and inlay the stones into the marble. As such this is probably the work of more than one master craftsman. The table top would have been made in areas around Florence in Italy, where suitable workmen were available. The inlaid stones make a simple symmetrical geometric pattern which contrasts the white marble perfectly. A truly rare opportunity to own such a stunning piece at a bargain price!
