Description
YOU ARE BIDDING ON- One (1) handwoven Egyptian or Perisan wool rug, most likely Egyptian -. It is in SUPERB condition for its age. The colors are EXTREMELY vivid and varied. This rug was purchased from the estate of early Montana pioneer family in the 1930's. From that time forward it has been owned and cared for by my Grandparents. It would enhance the floor of any dwelling. Slight damage to lower right hand corner (see photo). However, the rug is absolutely beautiful. The surface of the rug is velvety-soft. There is some foreign writing on the rug that you can see in one of the photos. We have learned from a Linguist in Italy that the writing says "1322", which translates to the modern year of 1910. Also, there is a Lion and a small man on the rug. These have some meaning that only a knowledgeable anthropologist might know about. The rug is 8'8" in length and 3'8" in width. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask! Happy Bidding!
