Description
I dont' know the actual name of this Opthalmology tool, but it's for testing one's eyesight. It has a wooden handle and a viewer flanked by a nose rest and eye blinder on each side. There is a series of numbers around one of the brass ends, ranging from zero to 180. There is a small hold drilled above the wooden handle, which I think would have held a long rod to hold an 'eye chart. One the end nearest the patient's eyes, there are two slots for the doctor to drop in different lenses. It's a really cool brass, glass and wood early medical device that would make a great addition to the decor in an eye doctor or optometrists' office! The item does have scratching on the brass and some of the black paint that covered the eye blnders has worn off. The item measures 6" wide at the eye blinders. The viewing cylinder is 4 1/2" long and about 1 3/4" in diameter. From the bottom of the wooden handle to the top of that end is about 7". Don't miss out on this one.....it's not something you'll find everyday! Thanks for your interest, and please, check out our other auctions. Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
