I HAD ACCIDENTALLY COPIED IT OVER FROM MY OTHER GORHAM LISTING. THESE ARE NOT GORHAM. I COULDN'T IDENTIFY THE MARK: This listing includes a charming complete set of 6 spoons in fair -NOT MINT- condition. They come from an estate. What is special about these is the pattern really unique and cool. I haven't seen anything like them. Here is what the sum of my research: These are marked 800 with a Hallmark that looks like an oval with a cross in it. Sort of like the astronomical symbol of the earth. As I understand it 800 is a common mark in European silver. I don't know if this means 800 with 1000 being pure like 925 is sterling? Anyone who knows feel free to educate me and I will post it. I don't know the age, but the look art nouveau to me. The could also be silverplate? I can't guarantee anything here. I tried and tried to photograph the Hallmark, but apparently I don’t know how to capture it legibly.The bowls of these spoons appear to possibly have been gold plated/painted at one time? It's hard to tell. Also, alot of the "blacking" is gone. I think these spoons would be amazing if re-purposed as jewelry or restored.Please ask me any questions.
