Description
Classic KAVA-KAVA MASTERPIECE EASTER ISLAND Barahona/Geisse CollectionWith those pieces we start a new sale of Tribal Art from the Barahona/Geisse Collection. This time we have selected approximately 40 pieces of Oceanic and African art specially Rapa Nui art.  Without the special characteristics of each piece, I want to emphasize that it’s an exhibition of history, beauty and magic.  With this I mean that the collection as a whole increases the singular value of each piece.  This because we have an almost complete trajectory of the Island’s history.  Each piece is a masterpiece on it’s own... the set, an exclusive, complete and valuable collection.   You will see the physical description of the Rapa Nui dream.  Artifacts of religious and war uses, exclusive figures of the most classic Rapa Nui art and strange figures, very exclusive that you will hardly find on any other collection. Classic KAVA-KAVA MASTERPIECE EASTER ISLAND Barahona/Geisse Collection This valuable piece of a hefty, threatening, arrogant, that looks more like a warrior, is a masterpiece conceived by an artist that with no doubt knew very well the human anatomy. The proportionality of shapes, the knowledge of the bone structure and muscles, the features of the ethnic group are perfectly captured on this antique figure. Since this is the most known figure of the Rapa-Nui art, I don’t want to bore you with details about the mythology of this being. The pictures that I offer are better that a thousand words.
