It was also unmarked and in was in a comparable condition and realised a sale price of £1673.00. A jardiniere with a similar pattern appeared at Tennants' salerooms in North Yorkshire in February 2005, reaching a hammer price of £16,000. For more references see also Michael Whiteway, Christopher Dresser; A Design Revolution, V&A Publications 2004. Fig.124 on page 98 illustrates another jardiniere with similar moth and butterfly decoration. The overall condition is very good; the vase having no chips, serious cracks or restoration. Aside from expected surface crazing there are a few hairlines which only show on the white interior sides of the vase and a feint star hairline on the bottom. Please study the photos as these give the best indication of condition.
