Description
CLASSIC MOTOR YACHT One of Our All Time Best Sellers Low starting bid! Copyright 2008 by Land and Sea Collection, All Rights Reserved! This model of our 1920-1930 Classic represents many hours of study, hard work and improvements which elevate it to a new level of design execution. New is the more ruggedly built hull, heavier by 1 1/2 pounds, redesigned bow, varnished hand rails over brass stanchions, painted cabin tops, mast and boom, black boot top stripe, and new lapstrake dinghy with three varnished wood thwarts and a varnished wood cap rail. Even the most critical collector will agree that this model is an outstanding value. Overall, this scale replica typifies the type of motor yacht that was popular during the period, 1920-1930 as built by American Car and Foundry, Consolidated, Chris Craft, Mathews, and Elco among others. Reportedly, the model of MISTRAL a West Coast boat, and is built from plans using the much desired plank on bulkhead method one plank at a time, and then finished in 7 coats of bright enamel and varnish over her deckhouses and decks. As these model are built by hand from scratch there will be some minor variations between models since they are individual works of the model maker's art, and not mass produced assembly line products. From one of the buyers of our earlier version who is the nephew of an intentionally renown naval architect had to say. He ultimately purchased two of these models: Hello Joel, She may be of older design and technology, but had no problem motoring into San Pedro. Arrived as the day she was built, beautiful. In my opinion there would be only one thing you could improve on. Build her Full Scale add a whole bunch of zero's to the price and give my Uncle Art some good old fashioned competition. I truly believe it is an outstanding model, especially for that price range. I really do like it, the lines and silhouette of her are and have been for years my favorite. My father, who also was an architect but of the dry land cubical style structures could not afford one of his brothers own boats. He and myself thru the years had a couple older Mathews and they had similar lines, but not quit as nice. I want to Thank You for a very nice transaction and a Fabulous Motor Yacht.
