Description
This attractive and highly polished flutina has fancy wood inlay and Mother of Pearl covered keys and pads. A simpler version of the concertina and the accordian, it was probably made in France or England, around 1850 and was popular in America through the Civil War period and beyond. It often shows up as a prop in photo portraits from that era. I tried it out and was able to get a different musical tone from each key on both the draw and the press. More than that I didn't attempt. It appears to be in good condition, although some of the wood panels have split with age (see pictures). Mailing in the US for $12.00. Please inquire about the cost of insurance. Satisfaction Guaranteed! (14 day return policy) Check out my other items! Thanks for the visit and good luck bidding! On Sep-06-08 at 15:33:27 PDT, seller added the following information:Size of the box is 11 3/4 inches by 3 3/4 inches.
