See below for details. Don't miss this opportunity to add this great sign to your collection. First the statistics: The sign is very large and heavy. It measures 20 by 36 by 2&1/8 inches. It weighs a hefty 13 pounds. It is naturally weathered by wind, sand and rain into a beautiful three-dimentional effect, with the letters raised up. It appears that the extra coat(s) of white paint for the "YARD LIMIT" was enough to protect the lettered areas from abrasion. My wife and myself found this sign while hiking the railroad in Hackensack, NJ, where we lived at the time. The sign was under about three inches of snow at the time, but right on top of the ground. The sign was found near the Fairmount Ave. Station, which is shown in the last photo in an oil painting. The exact location where the sign was found(rescued) was about 100 yards north of Temple Ave on the ground. This was around 1965 or so. We have enjoyed this sign for many years and its time to let some other(hopefully NJ) railfan enjoy it for many years to come.
