Sweep second means it has the movement with second hand that makes the second hand move continuous instead of the jerk each second.  A solid brass item crafted to resemble those of a century ago.  The quartz clock's three hands (hours, minutes, and seconds) are clear even from across the room because of the dome glass. The second hand is a vibrant red for high visibility.
