When he gave me this gift, he said he bought it in a antique store in North or South Carolina ( I could never remember which state) where his family keeps a summer home.  He had been home for a visit. He told me it was very old and meant to be given as a wedding gift. I really do not know anything else about this lovely box. I did some online research, but found more new boxes than old ones like mine. The old ones I did fine were in terrible condition, but still very expensive. My box's hinge and snap closure still work.  There are some scratches on the bottom, and the box shows signs of age. This pill box has been kept in its box and put away for safe keeping since I got it. I am not a antique dealer, so I make no guarantees.
