DALĀ'IL AL-KHAYYIRĀT (Guide to Good Deeds). This is one of the most famous books of prayer in Islamic literature. 86 leaves; size: 11 x 15.8 cm; written surface: 6.4 x 11.4 cm; in beautiful, elegant, and clear naskhī script, in black ink, with headings in red ink, on white paper, 11 lines to a page. The Arabic text is completely vocalized.  All pages are ruled in gold throughout. All sentences are separated  in gold, blue, and red circles.  The opening page, and leaf 14b are illuminated in gold, blue, and red, other colors. Pages 12b and 13a contain two full‑page, miniatures, one of them representing the Ka`bah in Mecca, the other the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad in the Medina Mosque. It was written by the master calligrapher Mustafā Subhī, known as  Khatīb Zādeh, and was complete on the 21st of Safar of the Islamic year corresponding to the 13th of December 1786 in the year 1201 AH/1799 AD.  The manuscript has no covers, many pages with gold ruling has been corroded, at lower outer corners, but most of them have been repaired with thin, non-acidic transparent paper.  A few smudges, but still an attractive and presentable copy.  [code:J11] Buyer pays domestic shipping and handling charges of $15.00 and may return any item for any reason within one week of receipt, if not satisfied.
