Description
William Spratling, Taxco, Mexico, circa 1945. This fine "beautiful, rustic art" cream and sugar set in sterling silver are both in excellent condition. Simple clean lines define this lovely set. This is the first time they have been offered to the market. Both have bulbous bodies with applied curved handles, and the sugar bowl top sports a ball finial. Dimensions: Sugar bowl is 3 5/8 inches to top of finial, both are just under 3 inches in diameter excluding handles, and the creamer is 2 3/8 inches tall. Approximately 10 oz. total weight. Both stamped as shown with the 1931-1945 mark. A beautiful set by the most famous maker of Mexican sterling silver who taught the likes of Emilio Castillo, Antonio Pineda, Fred Davis, Sigi Pineda.
