Beautiful Antique Handmade Hutch Cabinet from Belgium Start Price USD 4,500.00 Current Price USD 4,500.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Thursday, November 27, 2008 End Time Thursday, December 04, 2008 Location Summerville, SC See more about 'Beautiful Antique Handmade Hutch Cabinet from Belgium' Description This auction is for a gorgeous antique hutch, handmade in Belgium.  This piece of furniture was part of the decor of a Victorian Bed & Breakfast in Charleston, SC.  The piece came with the house when I purchased it, so I'm not entirely clear about the details.  However, I'm sure that it was handmade in Belgium, and I'm sure that it's very old.  I had a guest at the B&B a few years ago who claimed to know of a matching piece to this hutch, and he told me that the hutch was made in the 18th century.  That's just hear-say, so I can't stand behind that claim, but it's entirely possible that this piece was indeed handcrafted in the 1700's.  The wood is in good shape.  The wood is ornately carved, and appears to be mahoghany, although I'm not certain of that either.  This piece is rather large, measuring about 8 feet tall by 4 feet wide.  There is a cabinet underneath with two shelves.  The door above the cabinet is covered with glass, and there are four shelves inside the glass door.  There is a carved lion's head in each upper corner, with rings in their mouths.  There is one ring missing.  The front handle where you open the lower cabinet has also been replaced.  This is truly a unique and special piece that would make a wonderful addition to any dining room or parlor which features antique furnishings.  It's a true conversation piece, and with a little research, very well may turn out to be a very valuable treasure!   Buyer is to arrange shipping...seller is willing to arrange to be available for pickup.
