galerielithique Store SUPERB PRIMITIVE FLINT SCRAPER Typology : Interesting specimen of a side scraper. Cutting : This particular piece was created using a flint flake from a large pebble. On the ventral face the cutting edge is finely retouched. The other side was left cortical, but presents a few small retouches along the two working edges. Evidence of useware is still visible. Very nice piece ! Dating, hominid : This implement belongs to the early Acheulian Culture (Lower Paleolithic period, circa 500 000 years ago), and was conceived by Homo HEIDELBERGENSIS. Origin : It was found in the Grand-Pressigny area, discovered in the Creuse's ancient riverbed, where the flint was polished in the turmoils of the sands and waters. Sizes : 11 cm X 9 cm Weight :  410g A beautiful patina embellishes this tool from the Acheulian Culture. Very well preserved, no modern damage.
