It isn't one of the usual jacquard woven tapestries of the period, but a wonderful panel, cunningly machine loomed in true tapestry style, with tiny graduated threads giving a very pleasing overall colour and texture to the panel. Please look at the closeups to see how it has been tapestry woven, and note the lovely graduated threads. It has a beautiful floral border, with a lovely scene of a lady and gentleman mounted upon horses, while a servant and his dog organise the hunting for them.It has a heavy wooden bar attached to the top with brass pins, and small brass loops for hanging. (It may be possible to remove the bar by prising the pins off, this would give much cheaper postage, but may or may not cause slight distress to the top edge of the tapestry. I will be happy to try to do this if the winning bidder requests it.
