I've been collecting for more than ten years, and also selling buttons, and if I ever saw this button, or one like it, before, that memory is gone. The material used in the center of this fine button is a darkened horn, surrounded by a goldtone (brass?) metal twisted rope inner border. The wide outer border is a celluloid wallpaper pattern in mottled browns and tan. In addition, the pressed wallpaper pattern seems to be filled with gilt. The outer rim of the button is white metal with a slightly darkened finish. Size: 1-7/16" Age: Antique Condition: Excellent Postage is $2.50, including delivery confirmation.
