This wonderful, original set was made by “Yale & Towne” around the turn of the century. It consists of 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 brass “Yale” cylinder lock with 3 "Yale" keys, and 1 spindle with 2 securing pins. Please note that all bronze/brass parts are solid, heavy, cast bronze/brass—not stamped or plated iron. The emblematic knobs are oval shaped and feature the letters “FNB”, which stand for "First National Bank." The escutcheons have a fairly straightforward design adorned with 2 acanthus leaves. We cleaned all of the parts leaving the patina within the recessed areas to promote the raised details. All parts are in superb condition with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, etc. The lock, which, by the way, is VERY rare—took me almost a year to find!—is in great working condition. We also found an original “Yale” cylinder lock, in excellent shape, and had 2 keys made for it. * We actually have another, identical set, but the lock faceplate is missing. We’re keeping a lookout for a replacement lock, but if you could use the set with the incomplete lock, or without the lock—email us.
