Description
This is a close Folk Art replica of the sailing ship called Eagle. The eagle was   built in 1936 in Germany and used as a training vessel for the German Navy cadets. It was used by Nazi Germany during World War ll as a training ship for the Kriegsmarine. At the end of WW ll it was taken as a war prize by the USA and in 1946 commissioned into the United States Coast Guard as the Eagle. It is a three-masted sailing barque and is the only active sailing vessel in the US maritime services. This model is about 23" long with an additional 9" of pole for the mast. It is about 24" high to the top of the mast and 4" wide. The person I got this from in Atlanta did not know the person who handcrafted this item, but did know that it was originally a German ship taken over by the coast Guard. This is a detailed and well crafted model and is in very good aged condition. There may be some minor imperfections and it could use a good cleaning. Buyer to pay shipping and we reserve the right to ship Fed Ex. Paypal, money order and good check accepted.
