This is  a great Antique circa 1890 to 1910 large clear glass covered jar for holding cotton or cotton balls. This jar has a pull on and off clear glass lid with a knob handle on the top, this lid has a seem down the center. The front has a large oval glass reverse painted COTTON in gold with gold around the edge and the word GLASCO . The off white backing may be paper and not painted. This wording on the back of a separate piece of oval glass that is set into the recessed oval area on the front. The bottom has bas a pontail circle mark and the top edge has a slanted ribbing and a faint side seam mark in the glass. The condition is very good with no chips, no cracks or damage on the base or the lid. This container is a large pharmacy size but easily can be used for household use today.
