Excellent Condition.     I think these were lined to hold a thimble, this one shows no sign fabric was ever inside. The Brass top fits inside the brass bottom.      Bottom Brass edge is also detailed with a beaded band.       To open this box is so simple, the top and bottom both have a small handle so you simply push one up and the other down.       The fit is expertly done and operates perfectly. The only thing I see is a very small spot on the inside on the shell itself, looks alittle like rust, and could probably be removed.      No scratches or damage, a beautiful iridescent glow.
