Description
This is a 1917 Singer type 15-91 (I think its 15) portable sewing machine in the drawing room cabinet style of 21. You are more than welcome to check me on that, I could be off. But going by the serial number and research done at ISMACS, I'm pretty confident. This machine belongs to my 95 year old grandmother. Her mother purchased it brand new around 1919 (give or take a year). The wood shows some scrapes and the finish is wearing. As you can see in the pictures, the front left door is off its hinges, and one of the moldings in the front is peeling. However, this machine still works. The action is smooth and solid when in motion, and the craftsmanship is amazing. They don't make' em like this any more! What you see in the picture is what you will get, those are the original serial numbers [G5394753] under the Singer seal. It does require a new leather strap to connect the spinning wheel and the foot pedal. Please contact me if you have any questions.
