Description
A truly rare find for the collector or decorator. This is an antique salt glazed stoneware chamber pot, gray with hand decorated blue flowers above a band of cobalt blue. The pot measures approx. 8 in. in diameter and stands 7 in. high. It is approx. 9 1/2 in. from handle to opposite rim. The camber pot probably dates to the early 1800's and is in wonderful condition for its age and intended use! There is one bump in the rim covered with glaze that probably occured before firing (pic. 3). There are three old chips in the base (pic. 5) and and a couple rubbed spots where the glaze missing but the pot is not chipped. There is a hard-to-notice hairline crack in the base that does not extend up to the rim (pic. 6). Email if you have a question.
