Circa 1900's. Gorgeous micro-mosaic or micromosaic lid antique jewelry box with ormolu construction and leaded crystal panel sides measures 2 1/4" tall by 2 3/4" wide and deep, approximately. This is an earlier piece and shows some sign of age. The top is gorgeous, a raised daisy flowers and leaves motif surrounded by a Turquoise Blue background and a black and white scalopped edge. There is a small portion on the back of the lid about 7/8" wide by 1/4" where the tiles are missing and the space has been filled with a soft removable material like Play-doh. If you would like to have it restored , it should be fairly easy to remove. Considering the entire mosaic is 2 1/4" by 2 1/4" it is not a large portion and because the color match is good with the filler material it is not too visible. There is some patination on the edge of the lid, all other metal is in very good condition unless otherwise noted. It does no longer have the pillow lining inside but it can be replaced. The leaded crystal sides are in very good condition with only one very small, tiny really, ding on one edge in the back. No cracks, scratches, loseness or large chips. Again, I do believe the box was dropped or crushed at some point and all it's problems are related. It sounds worse than it is visually, but I like to be thorough on the description to avoid disappointments. Considering this little jewel is over 100 years old it is not so bad.
