Antique Mahogany Walnut HALF HULL Mounted Boat Ship 26" Start Price USD 9.99 Current Price USD 665.00 Time Left - Bid Count 25 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Tuesday, October 07, 2008 End Time Friday, October 17, 2008 Location Long Island, NY See more about 'Antique Mahogany Walnut HALF HULL Mounted Boat Ship 26"' Description Here is an antique "Half Hull" for your consideration.  The mounting measures 25 3/4" x 6", and the boat measures 21" x approximately 2 1/2".  I am not an expert on Half Hulls or boats in general.  I am not sure of the type or year of this piece.  Our local Maritime Museum, was also unsure.  They did inform me, that this is a very well constructed piece, made of Mahogany and White Pine, and the mounting is made of Walnut.  This Half Hull was found in a 200 year old estate on Long Island, NY.  It appears to be in excellent condition, with no damage to the wood, with the exception of a small split in the wood (approx. 1 1/2") at the front end of the boat.  It looks as though, this split was there, prior to the mounting.  If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask, and good luck! *I am in the process of cleaning out the contents of a 200 year old estate.  Many of the items, I will be listing on Ebay, so check back often! **I do combine shipping costs, and insurance is always available upon request!
