This piece is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty and we believe it dates back to earlier part of the 1900s and is signed by VERY WELL listed American artist Ilona Royce Smithkin who is listed in the Davenport, Askart and various other art indexes. This is an original oil on canvas that depicts a beautiful Young Nude woman with a beautiful pose and posture. It is a beautiful subject and was done with great detail in both color and clarity from the distinctive characteristics of her facial features and expression down to her beautiful fiery hair. Even the background of the painting has such beautiful color tones. Her body is gorgeous and a very sensual expression in this woman. This is an American artist and she is GORGEOUS. The artist was a TRUE MASTER, because we see great care and SKILL in the painting down to its finest details. With paintings of this caliber you can see the amount of care and attention the artist put into the piece and accomplished quite a bit here. This is original and has craquelure due to its natural age and may need some professional touch up. We believe the frame is original to the portrait and shows some wear with imperfections as well. For anyone who is familiar with her work she signed her work Ilona and her work is very hard to come by on the market. Her specialty was nudes and figures and is what she has become very well known for. This piece was VERY WELL made with quality that surpasses ANYTHING that is made today but Please understand that this is an antique and has some minor imperfections on it with its age but overall its in excellent shape.
