Antique Hand carved and built Piano Start Price USD 8,000.00 Current Price USD 8,000.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Wednesday, July 16, 2008 End Time Wednesday, July 23, 2008 Location Plano, TX See more about 'Antique Hand carved and built Piano' Description Built by my Grandfather in the late 1800's for a wedding gift to my grandmother.  Has 3 dimensional carvings, piano insides from richmond piano company out of Richmond Indianapolis, the number on the piano insides is #48074, the outer cabinet built from Mahagonny and other various woods.  All felts are redone, two keys out of tune, completely redone in 1998, all keys are ivory, most are the original keys, six were replaced, tops only.  I put $800.00 into the refurbishing of the felts, keys etc...Piano bench does not match but also handbuilt. The piano itself was Painted by my Grandfather and has original paint, no one has repainted or anything. The reason I am selling a family heirloom is because no one in this family plays the piano and my grandmother used to make this piano sing like angels.  I do not think she would be happy that it is just sitting and being idle.  This piano needs to be played and heard.  It has a beautiful sound and has an air to it that is intoxicating.  Just sitting at it makes you feel as if you could just play, whether you can or can't.  Would love to know it goes to a person who will appreciate it and take special care not to change anything about it, just make it sing!  I will miss it and will cry as it leaves but will know it will sing again.
