Description
The Fairy Phonograph Lamp brought the beauty of music into the home in the early 1900's. This item was patented in the United States and marketed as the Fairy Phonograph. It was manufactured by both the Fairy Phonograph Lamp Company and the Endless Graph Company of Chicago. It is unique in that the arm can be turned up when not playing a record blending in to make the whole device resemble a lamp. The base of the machine doubles as the horn of the phonograph while the upper component houses the electric motor that drives the record turntable. As for the lamp, there are two light sockets that can be used while playing the phonograph. When not in use, the turntable has a matching cover topped with an eagle. Customers had the option of buying the unit without a shade. The shade for this item was a beaded shade made by my Mother. It has since deteriorated. There are no surviving records to indicate how many Fairy Phonographs went into production or were sold. SHIPPING & HANDLING WILL BE DETERMINED AT END OF LISTING PERIOD. IT WILL BE NECESSARY FOR BUYER TO INSURE THIS ITEM AS WELL.  On Jul-20-08 at 05:20:55 PDT, seller added the following information:For more information you may contact me at 217-468-2022.
