Start Price USD 1,499.99 Current Price USD 1,499.99 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Saturday, July 19, 2008 End Time Saturday, July 26, 2008 Location Gettysburg, Pennsylvania See more about 'Antique Early Painted Decorated Miniature Sample Sled' Description Antique Early Painted Decorated Miniature Sample Sled Early, antique painted miniature sled measuring 15 5/8 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide.  This miniature sled features painted flowers on a green backdrop.      This is a WONDERFUL collectible item!   As for condition, this sled has wear to the paint at the bottom (see photo) and along the edges and a few other spots.   There is some splitting of the wood near the top left and right of the sled (view photos).   The paint that was on the sled runners has mostly worn off, and the metal shows darkening/mild corrosion of the metal.  We have not tried to clean this. The sled itself is a little crooked or twisted - which you can see in the photos where the right rails show when photographed straight on.  When we examine the back of the sled, it appears that the runners may have been installed crooked when made, thus resulting in the twisted sort of look.  We did not take any steps to try to correct this.   There are two little nail or screw holes in the wood on the sled (see photos) where something had been attached there at one time and you can see a little splinter of wood is missing by one of the holes.   Please note that I took photos with a flash and without.  The second photo (with a flash) gives a more accurate picture of the paint colors on the sled.    Buy it now, or send your BEST OFFER for my client's consideration!   View My About Me page to learn about Trostle's Antiques, Furniture & Fine Consignments in Gettysburg, PA.  Our store is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM - 5 PM.   You will receive an invoice with payment instructions at the end of the auction.
