That piece is dated to the Qing dynasty, and dates to the mid-17th century (1644 marks the beginning of the dynasty). As the book is difficult to locate, I have attached photos both of the book's cover as well as of the comparable piece. This piece also most probably dates to the mid- to late- 17th century and is made of a high-copper content bronze. As with the published piece, there is a space on the back of one of the two supine figures for the insertion of a second, standing figure. In generally excellent condition, save for a small separation just behind the shoulder of the principal figure. The piece is, however, completely stable and the separation in no way affects the esthetic appeal of the sculpture. The piece measures some 18cm in length (7") and is 5.5cm (2-1/4") in height.
