This auction is for an antique button made with riveted, cut steels, and brass filigree. There are 27 cut steels, riveted to a backing. These form a floral shape. The steels have many facets, not just a few, which dates this as a very early button, possibly early 1800's. The steel flower is attached to a brass filigree back. The button measures 11/16" in diameter, and has a loop shank that comes through from the front and holds the steel design in place.
