Description For sale is a very special antique French prayer book. It appears to be leather-bound and has gilt decoration and gilt edged pages. This rare miniature was purchased from a reputable auction firm and is described as French and from the late 19th century. It measures roughly 2-1/8" x 1-l/2" and comes from a smoke-free home.  The first page is handwritten and says "Me. Garraud"/Attentions/1855/Ce livre a ete depose dans le Chef de St. Martial en beni./Garroud/membre de St. Martial". There may be some small errors in my interpretation of the handwriting. The title of the book on the first printed page is "Le Petit Paroissien de l'Enfance" with Limoges/Martial Ardents Freres/1852 below the title.  The chapters are entitled "Exercice de la Sainte Messe",  "Le Dimanche a Vepres", "A Complis" and Le S. Jour de Paques, a la Messe".  It has two religious pictures of saints in it. This rare miniature antique book is in very good condition with some wear to the gilt decoration and a small sharp diagonal line at the top of the back cover.
