I bought this is a small town near me, that another antique dealer had bought from an estate sale. She said that the entire home was full of antiques, and this had been in one family all that time. The tapestry is probably French or Belgium, ( I sell many tapestries), this one is a finer weave, great detail, most likely early 1900's to 1920 . It measures 29 x 23 WITH the frame.  The tapestry has been nailed inside and backed w/ cardboard. The tapestry does not appear to be cut-down as I originally thought.  I can see the hem ( the finished part of a tapestry),  on the sides that are nailed, not a cut piece of fabric. The fabric itself measures 23 1/2 x 19 ins. approx. The tapestry depicts a man toasting some women leaning out of a balcony , he is very finely dressed, and there appears to be a musician, other men, a maid, and nice chickens roaming around..and roses . Please look at the pics of the frame as it has the true early Deco colors , greens, golds, and a little red accents. The INSIDE measurements of the frame are 24 x 19 1/2 ins. approx. The frame bows out a tad from the wall , I am guessing it got that way from age or storage . It is not that noticeable , simply trying to include any onfo you may want to know.  I would consider the frame and the tapestry to be in good condition. This would be very elegant in a French decorated or English decorated home. Or of you love it, then it works anywhere. Any questions, feel free to email me.
