Get Vendio Gallery - Now FREE!           "SINGER"    MODEL 20 TOY SEWING MACHINE       CIRCA 1914       Measures 6 1/4" x 3" x 7"       Up for auction is a charming, rare, antique toy sewing machine. This machine is the 1st style model 20 that Singer manufactured in 1914. This model does not have numbered thread routes. Singer added that feature to the following 1914 model manufactured. It's a rare gem because a limited number of them were made. It's in excellent condition. The glossy black enamel finish is excellent. The chrome sewing plate and hand-wheel shine. The other metal parts are very good. The hand-wheel turns and the needle part moves. It has a needle. The thread spindle has been replaced with a screw; it works fine. Otherwise, the machine is complete. It comes with a copy of a Singer 20 instruction booklet, a full Singer needle packet with 3 spare needles, a key/tool for removing the needle, and a rare unique, antique table clamp with a butterfly handle, circa late 1800's - early 1900's. *This machine is listed in Glenda Thomas' Toy Sewing Machine Guide Book I, Copyright 1995. She appraised it at up to $200.   The value of the machines appraised in Thomas' books have gone up in value since publication.  She describes the machine as follows: *Made of cast metal with oval base with no felt on the bottom. *Nickel plated spiral hand-wheel with no arrows. *Tension and stitch-length regulator.  ***See the last two photos from her book for more information about the machine.
