SquareTrade © AP6.0 This Item Is Offered For 1 Week Only For This Price No Bidding Required Working Model  ROSS LONDON™Antiqued Brass Slow Motion Nautical Captain's 4 in. Sextant, With Extra Nice wood box. Prefer to pay a little more and have a better one? THIS IS THE FAVORITE It took us longer to get these made than we thought but while they last it is nice to have them to offer now. We list both, Physical size 5 in, and sextant size ( from pivot of arm ) 4 in. Many sellers sell a sextant by physical size only ( Very Important ). If both sizes are not listed,  watch out. Working in the title means this sextant can be calibrated and used. Please compare feedback when deciding on a purchase. This item is a NEW brass intricate nautical sextant reproduction with sturdy box . This is one of the favorites. This is for the person wanting a sextant that is small, sturdy, easy viewing, has box, adjustable mirrors, sturdy mounted telescope. The sextant itself is quite detailed, Slow Motion adjustment with 4 glass ( not plastic, very important, all of ours are glass ) filter lenses , and large swing arm, reflective mirrors, and has velvet lined box.    ROSS LONDON™  is engraved on the swing arm and handle plate. Notice in one of the pictures, the amount of adjustment on the telescope, think about how much more accurate your reading can be, the excellent view in the lens on the index arm, and the nice adjusters for the index mirror. These are not found on many 4 in sextants. This 4 in has more sighting distance from eye to mirror than most 5 in and even some 6 in sextants. The index arm features a magnifying lens and a highly accurate slow motion adjuster. The slow motion intricate device allows you to advance the swing arm by a fine adjustments or loosen the screw and use fast motion. The full 120 degree arc is inset with white metal to contrast with the brass, and features individual degree demarcations. Imagine sailing ship captains in the early 1900s using an instrument like this. This heavy brass sextant also features a solid construction and weighs only 14 oz . Crafted in the style of a century ago, this sextant has a nicely polished and finished wood handle, as well as brass stand legs for upright easy display. All in all, would make a great gift for the sextant enthusiast and novice alike. Certainly a fine item for the sextant, brass, nautical, surveying, engineering instrument, militaria, or other collection - shines on display. This detailed item measures approximately 5 x 5 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches . Hardwood Box measures 6 1/4 x 5 1/2 x 4 inches .
