Made in Fars district of southwest Iran. Woven on an ivory, gray and brown wool non-depressed warp with two shoots of red wool weft between each row of symmetrical knots. It is dyed with a wide variety of abrashed vegetal dyes. It has three rows of two stepped diamond, ivory ground medallions. The medallions and the dark blue field are both filled with a whimsical array of birds, animals, flowers and plants. An unusual main border on a deep red ground. This rug has low even flat pile all over, as shown both ends have slight missing, but overall is in good shape. It has no wears, stains and odor. If you had any question please, ask.
