The design is a mixture of various sized flowers, vines and leaves. There are also many "ribbons" with small circles. Please notice how the design is different in the center of the circles. Also notice how there are small circles in the center of some of the flowers with buttonhole stitches. The top edge of the lace is flat and the bottom has a scalloped edge from the various flowers, vines and leaves the "hem" the bottom edge. This is a very fine handmade lace in such good condition and very stable that it could be used today. Please look at the images to see some of the flaws in this piece. I have taken detailed images of some of the breaks in the "bars" Although these exist, the piece is still in great condition and very stable. Also notice in the last image how the spine of the spray of leaves is made of 43 (forty three) small circles covered in buttonhole stitches. These circles stand up away from the design and are very beautiful. Place a Bid!
