The diamond pattern measures about  3" squares and the faded black colored nylon cord the netting is made with is about 1/8" wide! YOU COULD THROW A BOWLING BALL AT THIS STUFF AND NOT HURT IT! This netting is super stretchy poly nylon blend so it needs to be anchored or tied at multiple points per side to get the quoted size.  The edges are uneven but you will get at least the quoted measurements! Trims up nicely with a pair of scissors. Stiff but a silky feel to the cord. It is in very used condition and is not like the new stuff everyone is selling. Remember that this stuff probably caught Salmon or some other fish at one time. Lucky for us it broke loose from its floats and wash up on the beach! There is a musty smell or ocean smell from the netting being in the salt water but can be easily washed in a sink of soap or bleach. Gets rid of the smell all together! We have washed the seaweed and sand from this netting but have not used soap. There are minor holes or patches here.
