The Burmese handmade Kalagas are made just over the Thai border in the Maa Sai District of Chiang Rai province. Each Kalaga is an individual work of art created from hundreds to thousands of individual beads, stones, and sequins. Some of these works of art can take up to a year to produce, owing to there elaborate and beautiful design. IMPORTANT NOTICE! Due to the intricate and individual nature of the Kalaga‘s, and owing to the remoteness of their source, all kalagas are supplied in the original condition, which may include some missing beads and sequins.
