Description
I'm downsizing and need to consolidate instruments.  There is not going to be room for 3 grand pianos and this harpsichord. I purchased the instrument in 1973 in New York City at Orpheus Music.  It has 5 ranks of pins - 16', 8', and 8' leather Peu de Buff on the great and 4',8' on the swell.   There are also 2 hand stops to control the timbre and volume.  The ranks are engaged with 5 foot pedals that I have found quite handy when notes are flying hard and fast.  The keyboard range is 4 3/4 octaves, a-f; the compass of the instrument is 6 3/4 octaves, A2-f4; lute to 8'2 and 16'; manual coupler 8'2 + 4' to lower manuel; the length is 6'8" and the width is 3'4".  The serial number of the instrument is #23289. The instrument is priced as a "handy man's special."  A new one would cost about $20,000 and I encourage you to check the Neupert web site.  It needs a major regulation, having sat here unused for the past decade.  The amazing thing is that it has a recognizable pitch even though it has not been tuned in all this time.  I have downsized to a little Roland electronic harpsichord that looks like a harpsichord and sounds fairly decent.  At least it's good for playing weddings and receptions. There are some small veneer issues to the case, but these are easily repaired.  My tool box is included in the purchase - tuning hammer, extra picks and strings, veneer, and various miscellaneous items. The successful buyer must arrange pick up of the harpsichord at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina - a great place for a mini-vacation.  (I might even offer room and board for a couple of days, which is worth much money.)  I will go over the regulation process with you.  Neupert has a nifty regulation screw at the top of the jack that makes the process much easier than on other instruments.  I have a long "piano board" and padded dolly that we made to assist in transportation. Please ask questions before bidding.  I cheerfully refund your money if the instrument is not as described, but I do not offer refunds for "Buyer's Remorse."
