These probably date from the 1920s or slightly earlier. The buttons measure a fraction less than 3/4" in diameter. They attach via a carved shaft. What this means is that a chunk of jade had to be carved out and then the front reduced to a flat surface, leaving the shaft. Then the front is carved, the edges formed into a floral shape and the shaft drilled. These buttons have been hand drilled with an old style hand drill, not an electric drill. The holes have been started from the two different sides of the shaft. They narrow as they proceed into the jade and do not meet up exactly. This aspect is how you date older artifacts that have been drilled. Condition is excellent, except for the card which is torn. There is a circular iron wire attached to each button and then sewn onto the card with old cotton thread. Shipping can be first class in a padded envelope or you can chose to have these shipped in a box, priority. Please note that this is an authentic vintage item and is not new. As such, there will be imperfections and age and use related issues. I always attempt to list any damage or imperfection. All items are sold as is. Insurance is optional and will obviously raise the price of shipping. Insurance cost is determined by the post office and is calculated by the winning price of this item.
