The seats and backs are of dark green bakelite, frames are steel. These were purchased by our client in an antique shop in Geneva, Switzerland in the 1980s. The dealer she purchased them from told her they were French - however, we have seen some English industrial pieces with a similar look. They have a wonderful spring mechanism by which the backs can recline, and the seat adjusts forwards and backwards.
