This gorgeous  nautical collector's piece features 4 color filters, a wood handle, a movable sextant arm, and carefully engraved angle markings set in white colored metal, known to some as German silver.  These are sometimes called Life Boat Sextants. The reason this is very important is if you see a size listed as 6in for example and no other measurements, most likely it is a 5in sextant with a 6in measurement across the frame.
