Description Up for auction is a very cool Pirate Treasure Chest Jewelry Box dating from the 1920's. Awesome piece with a pirate sitting on his treasure chest. The pirate features a hand carved ivory face with amazing detail. Made of solid spelter with an applied bronze/gold finish to the surface. The detail is stunning, from the treasure chest, pirate hat & clothes and gun in hand. Chest is hinged and opens perfectly. It is cedar lined and would be a great jewelry box. I am pretty sure the item is made by Hirsch, but is not marked. Overall condition is great with no major wear to speak of. Some light wear to the gold finish from age, but nothing major. The ivory face is awesome and in great shape. A couple small stress cracks in the smelter, from when the item was made. Pirate is attached to the box with an original screw. Measures approx. 6 3/4 inches tall and 5 5/8 inches wide. Very rare item is a must for any collector of maritime items. This unique jewelry box was found at a recent 90 year estate of along time collector. It has been safely stored away for years. Good luck and feel free to email me with any questions.
