The porthole swings out when the lower wingnuts are loosened and disengaged.  Has three predrilled holes for easy wall mounting. Recalls the sailing ships and navy vessels of yesteryear. Another nice use for this  is covering something on a wall, like a wall safe as the porthole swings open ( 17 3/8 in dia. opening ) Would made a wonderful addition to any marine collection, or gift for the nautical enthusiast. Weight is 8 3/4 lbs of solid brass Many customers use 2 ( oposite sides of wall or door ), some use for venilation, some use to see into another room, there are 100's of uses. Easy to change to clear glass, add a picture behind glass, or paint a picture behind the porthole and have no glass or mirror. The portholes we sell are decorative only, not for use outside to protect from a storm.
