They date from the 19th century and are of Chateau quality.  This is typical of the French style of curtain ring, as there are no small rings for curtain fixing, the curtains would be stitched or tied onto the rings and the decoration would face forward dressing over the curtain and very unusual to find 20 in number, all matching. The internal diameter is 2" (50 mm) and the external diameter is 2 1/2" (60 mm) and the overall length of the rings is 4" (100 mm) - all are complete. Each ring weighs just under 70g. Lovely!
